Two new 25-tonne material handlers hit the equipment market
16 November 2023
Develon, formerly known as Doosan Construction Equipment, has launched two new Stage V-compliant material handlers designed for the construction and demolition (C&D) waste recycling sector.
The new DX230WMH-7 (24 t) and DX250WMH-7 (25.6 t) Stage V compliant material handlers, which weigh 24 t and 26 t respectively, are wheeled models with front and rear stabilisers.
They are suitable for handling sorting various materials, such as scrap metal and other types of solid waste from the recycling, demolition and forestry sectors.
According to Develon - formerly known as Doosan Construction Equipment, both models are fitted with its latest generation of 6-cylinder, turbocharged DL06V water-cooled diesel engine, which provides an output141 kW (189 HP) at 1900 RPM.
Develon said: “Reducing environmental impact is paramount to Develon, so the engine has extremely low emissions as exhaust gases are purified by Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).”
As standard, the DX230 and DX250 incorporate the hydraulic cab riser, which gives the machine operator better all-around visibility of the attachment and work area.
“When combined with the rear-view camera display in the cab, the operator has excellent visibility of the job site,” said Develon.
Described as being “easy to operate”, the material handlers are fitted with both ergonomic joysticks and a steering wheel, and also come equipped with two-way auxiliary and rotate circuit hydraulics for improved efficiency. “The operator can use buttons on the joysticks or an optional foot pedal to control auxiliary attachments,” the manufacturer added.
Each material handler offers four power mode options - Power+, Power, Standard and Economy, which enable operators to better balance fuel consumption and machine power for different applications.
The Power+ provides faster working speeds and more power for demanding material moving tasks, Power mode delivers “superior performance” for heavy lifting applications, quick truck loading and fast travel speeds.
While the Standard working mode serves to lower fuel consumption for general activities, the Economy setting reduces fuel use during low-demand activities and “slows down machine movement for conditions that require more precise movements”.
In addition to the four power modes, the new material handlers include a lifting work mode, which provides increased pump torque, low engine RPM and an automatic power boost.
Develon said: “Customers can also select the front type set up they want, with a choice between straight arm and gooseneck arm configurations, depending on the application and preference.”
While the DX230WMH-7 has been designed for standard loads, the DX250WMH-7 includes a longer front and an additional 1.2 tonne counterweight for better stability when dealing with heavier loads. Both machines also have wide axle and front/rear outriggers for added stability.
Inside the cabs, both the DX230WMH-7 and the DX250WMW-7 are fitted with Develon’s new 8-inch Smart Touch screen that provides operators with access to all machine functions and settings.
It displays a video feed from the standard rear-view camera, as well as from the optional side view camera.
Also on the technology side of things, the new models feature Develon’s Fleet Management TMS 3.0 Cellular telematics system as standard. Utilising a simpler user interface with the information accessible via a desktop computer or a smartphone, it provides location information and a full range of machine operational information to owners, dealers and Develon
According to the equipment manufacturer, a number of factory installed options are also available. These include additional work lamps, cab guarding, frame guards, a rotating beacon, solid tyres and a smart key.
