Edge Innovate adds new Stage V trommel
14 July 2021
Shredding and screening equipment manufacturer Edge Innovate has launched a new track mounted trommel for construction and demolition waste processing.
The TRT620R trommel weighs 30 t and is powered by a Stage V compliant Cat C3.6 diesel engine.
According to the manufacturer, the model is designed for “heavy duty applications” and, in addition to construction and demolition waste, can be used with aggregates, commercial and industrial waste, green waste, sand, gravel and skip waste.
It is equipped with a 1050 mm (42 in) wide telescopic conveyor with a maximum discharge height of 3.2 m (10 ft 6 in), and incorporates a large capacity hopper and a 1,200 mm (48 in) wide feed conveyor with variable reverse and forward speed.
The TRT620R trommel features a remote operated, 180-degree radial fines conveyor that can “track, screen and stack material simultaneously”.
Edge, which launched its new SM186 wheel mounted screener earlier this year, said: “This functionality allows for enhanced production capacities, reduced material handling and the ability to create large radial or windrow stockpiles.
“The positioning of the radial fines conveyor whether at 0° or 180° allows the TRT620R to have the same small footprint of a side conveyor trommel format but with a much superior product separation and reduced material contamination.”
The control panel of the TRT620R trommel can be operated via wireless remote control and allows users to set operating parameters for all applications.
In addition to automatic start-up and shut down functions, the control panel allows operators to choose an eco-power mode and its overload management system monitors drum pressure and regulates the feeder speed.
Edge said its new TRT620R trommel also has an “easily replaceable” 5.5 m (18 ft) long punch plate drum, which is fully compatible with drums from other manufacturers - including Doppstadt, Pronar, Neuenhauser and Terex Ecotec.
According to the manufacturer, the model’s screening drum can be replaced in just a few minutes via its double-sided 180° swinging drum doors.
While the machine has a working height of 3.7 m (12 ft), its transport dimensions come in at 3.4 m (11 ft) high, 14.9 m (49 ft) long and 2.8 m (9 ft) wide.
