Caterpillar has launched its 953 track loader for the US, European, Australian and New Zealand construction equipment markets.
A replacement of the 953K model, the new 953 has an operating weight of 15.6 tonnes and is designed for general applications.
The loader is equipped with a Tier 4/Stage V compliant Cat C7.1 engine with an Auto Mode that is said to offer up to 10% lower fuel consumption than its predecessor model.
It also includes an Eco Mode for lighter applications that uses even less fuel and a Power Mode that keeps the engine speed high for more demanding tasks.
Capable of working in tight spaces, the model can be ordered with Select joystick or V-lever and pedal steering for transmission controls and either joystick or 2-lever implement controls.
The manufacturer said, “The joystick option provides familiar controls for operators experienced with skid steers/compact track loaders. With either control scheme, operators can set implement response – fine, normal, coarse – to match operator preference or application.
“Repetitive lift, lower, rack, dump and float functions can be preset to make jobs like truck loading easier.”
Suitable for a range of applications, including waste and recycling tasks, the loader is available with a range of attachments.
On the technology front, the cab of the 953 is equipped a 10-inch touchscreen display with a rear-view camera and Cat’s Slop Indicate feature.
It also includes the Cat LINK telematics system, which includes the Product Link for data collection and Remote Troubleshoot that allows dealers to perform diagnostic tests remotely.
The loader is also available with optional extras such as Cat’s Performance Series bucket, for up to 20% more productivity, and the company’s Fusion Quick Coupler for quick attachment changes.
