The family-run business, which has been in operation for over 20 years and is believed to be the largest skip hire and recycling company in South Warwickshire, bought the new model for pre-sorting waste and loading the picking line at the company’s Stratford-upon-Avon site, where is recycles construction and demolition waste materials.

Supplied by equipment dealer Midlands JCB, MRW chose the JCB 140X excavator model for its high level of mobility, ease of use, and operator comfort.

The 15.2-tonne model has a bucket capacity of 0.89 cu m and is fitted with a 81 kW engine. Recently delivered to MRW, the new machine is already in use at the company’s site and is currently processing up to 70 waste containers per day.

Tim Croxford, Managing Director Designate at MRW Waste Recycling, said: “We have been running a JCB loading shovel and Loadall telescopic handler for a number of years and have always found them to be reliable. So when we were looking for another cost effective, robust machine, naturally we turned to JCB.

“The JCB 140X received some very positive reviews so we took the plunge, and we’re glad we did. Our operator is delighted with the ease of use and the comfort factor, while the reach of the machine is just right. The result is a highly productive machine that has further improved our operations.”
