WysePower acquired by engineering consultant

Global engineering consultant RSK is to acquire temporary site services company WysePower. The price has not been disclosed.

WysePower, which was founded as WysePlant in 1958, supplies temporary equipment and site services for construction projects, including power, safety equipment, and site utilities. It has more than 260 employees, eight offices in the UK and is active in five continental European countries from a base in Amsterdam. Revenues in its most recent financial year were £28 million.

The acquisition includes WyseBase, the division that provides temporary foundations and roadways for projects.

RSK has recently been expanding through acquisitions and now comprises more than 175 companies. Its annual sales are projected to more than double to £800 million in the current financial year.

Current WysePower Managing Director Shawn Callaghan will continue to lead the business. He said; “For more than 60 years, we have developed and maintained the trust and support of our clients, who appreciate the breadth of our service packages, the quality of our designs and installations and the dedication of our employees.

“We look forward to continuing this work, specialising in prestige projects and emerging market sectors, such as high-tech manufacturing, hyperscale data centres and major infrastructure projects while benefitting from the growth RSK can offer. This gives us the opportunity to enhance our project work and client relationships by working with a host of RSK businesses from the same or related sectors.”

WysePower has recently worked on data centre projects across the UK, Europe and Scandinavia, as well as Gigafactories, the HS2 raily project, and major commercial and retail developments.

RSK has 10,000 employees, operates globally, and offers consultancy services encompassing environmental, engineering and technical services for construction, infrastructure, utilities and mining.

In the current financial year alone, RSK has acquired 18 companies, including scaffolding, marine and environmental businesses.
