Vp appoints head of procurement
20 November 2024
Vp plc has announced the appointment of Katy Tindal as Group head of procurement.
She joins the company following six years as the IT senior category manager for AI specialist GEP Worldwide.
Prior to that, she had experience in procurement and worked across a range of sectors and companies including GEP, Cox Automotive UK, and Balfour Beatty.
In her new role with Vp, Tindal’s initial areas for focus will be to lead and implement a comprehensive procurement framework and oversee the creation and maintenance of procurement procedures, systems and technology to enhance operational efficiency, the company said.
She will also collaborate with existing procurement specialists in the business to “ensure alignment and achievement of operational targets.”
Vp said the appointment follows the creation of a new central Vp procurement function that aims to drive consistency, operational efficiency and value across the Group.
It said that the appointment also supports its refreshed strategy, announced in June 2024, which see’s its specialist divisions working more closely together to drive growth, supported by an “enhanced digital strategy which aims to simplify processes and improve the customer experience.”
Jonathan May, chief operating officer, Vp, said, “We welcome Katy to the Group. Her experience of working with businesses to deliver improved service will be invaluable to us, not only for our business divisions, but also for our suppliers and consequently our customers.
“We believe that by working more strategically with our supply chain we will be more efficient in how we operate as a Group whilst bringing additional value. I very much look forward to working with Katy.”
