Terex rough terrain for North America

Terex Cranes used the ConExpo 2020 trade show to present its new TRT 80US rough terrain crane to the North American market.

The TRT 80US is an 80 ton (73 tonne) capacity crane with a main boom length of 138 feet (42.1 metres). It is the first model featuring Terex’s new TEOS operating system, which is designed to increase job efficiency. The system has a completely new man/machine interface, said Terex. It maintains key functionality features, including operating range limiter, an automatic throttle for the engine, and integrated diagnostics, but combined with improved information flow, usability and easier maintenance claimed Terex. The operating system uses what Terex said is an intuitive, icon-based format.

The crane has four steering modes and Terex said it has a compact design for increased manoeuvrability.

Three telescoping boom modes enable the crane operator to tailor the setup; these modes include two jib configurations of 26 and 46 feet (8 and 15 metres).

In the cab, there’s a new steering column and a new dashboard with a 10 inch display. LED lights are also part of the standard machine. Optional extras include: up to four camers, with the images visible in the main display pannel; radio remote control; and Terex’s T-Link telematics platform.
