Terex Ecotec launches its smallest trommel
04 February 2021
Terex Ecotec has launched its new TTS 528 trommel with a total screening area of 23 sq m (248 sq ft). Designed as an entry level machine, the tracked version of the model offers transport measurements of just 9.8 m (32 ft) in length and 2.9 m (9 ft 6 in).
Suitable for small to medium sized operations, the 17.2 t model is the manufacturer’s smallest model yet and can be used on sites with limited space, making it an appealing machine for specialist rental companies.
Available with either tracks or wheels, the TTS 518 is equipped with a Stage V/Tier 4 CAT C2.2 engine and can screen a range of material including soil, gravel and waste. The machine is fitted with a 1.8 x 4.7 m (6 x 15 ft) horizontal drum with a spiral design, which users can access through its double-sided drum side doors. The side doors can open as wide as 180 degrees for easy maintenance and drum changes. According to Terex Ecotec, the model also accepts other trommel manufacturers’ drums, allowing it to be easily integrated into customers’ existing fleets.
Conor Hegarty, international sales director at Terex Ecotec, said: “Inspired by the successful TTS 620, the TTS 518 has been designed as an entry level machine where lower volumes and smaller machine footprint are required. More compact without sacrificing key features the TTS 518 benefits from low operating costs and comes with the latest engine technology complying with Stage V emissions standards.”
The machines hopper has a capacity of 5 cu m (176 cu ft) and its 4 m (13 ft) long feeder includes the manufacturer’s intelligent feed control system, which monitors the machine and adjusting the feeder speed for optimised screening performance and throughput.
With the same control system and push to start button as the company’s larger TTS 620 model, the TTS 518 also includes a slide out cassette for easy maintenance and quick belt changing.
