Terex Ecotec introduces compact shredder
26 January 2024
Terex Ecotec has expanded its range of waste shredders, adding the TDS 815 Compact Slow Speed Shredder to its product line.
The TDS 815 shredder incorporates a 1.5-metre twin shaft shredding unit that can handle wide range of waste materials, such as skip waste, bulky waste, household waste, wood waste, green waste, building waste, asphalt, stone, and construction and demolition rubble.
It has an operating weight of 16.5 tonnes, is powered by a Tier 4 Final/Stage V compliant, 140kw Cat 4.4 engine weight of 16,500kgs, and offers a stockpile height of 3.3m.
While load-sensing hydraulics help to prevent damage to the shaft teeth and to extend the machine’s lifespan, the incorporation of quick-change shafts and combs, along with replaceable wear-resistant plates means that maintenance can be carried out quicker and more easily.
The TDS 815, which can be transport via container, has a structure that comprises a tracking system coupled with a hydraulic chassis that allows the unit to be raised and lowered for “smooth operations and convenient diagnostics” while on site.
Pawel Kononczuk, Business Development Director at Terex Ecotec, said: “The Terex Ecotec TDS 815 shredder sets a new standard in the waste processing industry. Its compact design, powerful engine, and advanced features make it a game-changer for seeking efficiency and adaptability in their operations.
“The machine’s versatility, coupled with its intelligent load-sensing hydraulics and quick-change shafts, positions it as a reliable and high-performing solution for various waste materials. It’s not just a shredder; it’s a strategic asset for tackling the diverse challenges of waste processing.”
According to Terex Ecotec, which described the model as “robust”, the TDS 815 can also be operated with either synced or independent shafts to deal with various application requirements.
Standard features of the model include a user-friendly control system, remote control functionality and the T-Link telemetry system, which provides real-time performance data to help equipment users manage the machine and improve uptime.
The data, which can be accessible via a tablet or smartphone, includes details of the machine’s location, fuel consumption and operating statistics.
