The company is a NASA Centennial Challenge award-winner that develops sustainable construction solutions for terrestrial and extraterrestrial environments.

According to media, the new facility will support the firm’s research and development on lunar construction and advanced manufacturing divisions.

SpaceFactory said it was committing US$2 million to build the new facility, though did not specify the total cost or construction methods. It was designed by PlanetWorks Architecture, a sister company of SpaceFactory.

Construction is expected to start this year, with a completion target scheduled for next summer.
