R Heatrick, a recycling and demolition contractor based in Northern Ireland, has purchased the TTS 518T, Terex Ecotec’s latest trommel and its smallest to date.

Established over 50 years ago in 1969, the company acquired Skipway Waste Management & Recycling in 2012 and has since secured numerous recycling and demolition contracts across the United Kingdom.

R Heatrick received a prototype of TTS 518T trommel and tested it for a few months.

“During our testing we used a variety of materials including stone, timber and other waste,” said director Trevor Heatrick.

“We can change the drum very quickly, in a matter of minutes. The drum simply lifts out with the aid of a forklift and can be replaced by a different sized one from another manufacturer, so we can easily integrate it into our existing trommel fleet.”

The TTS 518T was supplied and delivered by Terex Ecotec’s new Northern Ireland dealer, Quarry & Recycling Solutions (QRS).

Optimal performance providing a total screening area of 23 sq m (247 sq ft), the TTS 518T is fitted with a 1.8 x 4.7 m (6 x 15 ft) horizontal drum with spiral design. It shares the same control system as the TTS 620, allowing the operator to effortlessly configure the machine to suit the required application.
