Up to two experts from the NRS team are set to speak at the international event, which will take place in Stockholm, Sweden on the 6 and 7 November, 2024.

NRS (formerly Magnox) is responsible for decommissioning the UK’s first-generation nuclear power generation and research sites at Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dounreay, Dungeness A, Harwell, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd, Winfrith and Wylfa.

Leila Steed, Programme Organiser for the World Demolition Summit, said: “I cannot express just how big a deal this is, and I am enormously grateful to the NRS team for reaching out to us.

“The work that NRS does in decommissioning these power plant sites goes far beyond just the restoring of land.

“Over the decades, entire towns and vibrant communities have grown around these sites and so their decommissioning is of massive importance to the lives of thousands of people.”

Further information about NRS’ speaker(s) will be published in due course.
