Engcon commits to Science Based Targets initiative

Global tiltrotator manufacturer Engcon says its decision to join the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) marks an important step in its sustainability work.
The Sweden-based company, which reported record net sales in the fourth quarter of 2022 is one of 4,000 businesses worldwide aiming for a carbon neutral society, as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warns that the world faces unavoidable multiple climate hazards in the next 20 years due to global warming and climate change.
As a result, it has set science-based and validated emission targets in line with the SBTi and the goal to limit the earth’s warming to 1.5°C (2.7°F) as established in the Paris Agreement at COP 21 in 2015.
“Sustainability forms the basis of our business and long-term growth,” said Krister Blomgren, president and CEO of Engcon, which recently exhibited models from its tiltrotator range at the ConExpo trade show in Las Vegas, USA..
“We constantly work closely with our end customers and partners to develop innovative, productive and sustainable solutions.
“With science-based targets, we get a clear roadmap that reduces our own and the supply chain’s greenhouse gas emissions and contributes to the global climate transition.”
The SBTi is a muti-agency collaboration focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by the middle of this century.
