EDA in ‘energetic’ start to 2022
09 March 2022
There is nothing like starting the year with energy, enthusiasm and new projects.
That’s why we are especially excited about the start of 2022 for the European Demolition Association (EDA).
The first quarter of the year will be marked by several initiatives, some of which are just beginning and others that are about to reach their first milestone.
Among the latter, the Guide to End-of-life of Industrial Facilities, which is already in the final stage of layout and will be published soon, stands out. This guide brings together the experience and knowledge of specialised companies, showing that they play an important role as partners of the facility owners, such as power plants, nuclear plants, chemical, oil and gas facilities.
Its main objectives are to guide facility owners with the steps to take when facing a scheduled deactivation or an unexpected event; to highlight the main challenges and risks, as well as the steps and solutions; and to highlight the relevance of working with professionals to deliver a successful project.
In addition, the EDA has just reactivated a working group of great interest to industry professionals: the high reach subgroup.
This subgroup will mainly be responsible for updating the EDA High Reach Guidelines, published in 2010 by the association and available in multiple languages.
Also, in the coming weeks, the association will start working on its European Demolition Industry Report 2022, which will include trends and data on investment, turnover or volume of work for the past year, as well as forecasts of professionals across the continent for the current year.
As we mentioned, it is an exciting start to the year, full of projects that we are confident will have a positive impact on the sector at the European level.
Remember we have an appointment in Paris? The EDA Annual Convention 2022 will be held in the French capital from 9 to 11 June. And, as we’ve been missing seeing each other without screens, we’ve prepared something very special... we have rented the Eiffel Tower to host our gala dinner.
This very special dinner will take place at Gustave Eiffel Hall, on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower, with a breathtaking view of Paris.
Could there be a better setting?
