De Bree Solutions upgrades wet processing facilities

Belgian waste recycling specialist De Bree Solutions has upgraded its waste processing equipment, in order to increase its waste processing and recycling capacity to 400 t a day.

Belgian waste recycling specialist De Bree Solutions has upgraded its waste processing equipment, in order to increase its waste processing and recycling capacity to 400 t a day.

The family-run firm, which provides industrial cleaning, green processing, soil cleaning and waste management services across Belgium, the Netherlands and France, added the AggMax, EvoWash and CFCU systems from CDE Global.

The new equipment was integrated into the recycling firm’s existing plant, to help it meet rising demand in the region.

Yves Dupont, managing director at De Bree Solutions, said: “With more material passing through the plant there is more need for downtime to accommodate maintenance and upkeep, and more potential for things to go wrong.

“That’s why, aside from the quality and quantity of product, the entire system had to be backed up by reliable technology which would reduce operational costs – producing savings we can pass on to our customers – and maximise plant uptime.”

Designed to process construction, demolition and excavation (CD&E) waste, the company’s new AggMax washer equipment can also cope with organic waste, contaminated soils containing metals, cyanide, oil and road sweepings.

De Bree’s new AggMax technology, which is designed to maximise product yield from construction and demolition waste, uses a single portable chassis to pre-screen, scrub, size and remove contaminants feed contaminants before stockpiling the output material.

Eunan Kelly, head of business development for North West Europe at CDE, said: “After meeting with Yves and the team at De Bree Solutions we gained an in-depth understanding of what the business wanted to achieve: competitive advantage, reduced OPEX, cost-effective and efficient solutions.

“Top of the list was durable technologies that could integrate with the company’s existing setup.”

Alongside the AggMax, the company’s new EvoWash washing system processes fine materials, such as sand and gravel fractions.

CDE said: “The EvoWash screens and separates the smaller sand and gravel fractions through an integrated high-frequency dewatering screen, sump and hydrocyclones which provide unrivalled control of silt cut points and eliminates the loss of quality fines with significant commercial value.”

De Bree also contracted CDE to completely replace its existing Counter Flow Classification Unit (CFCU).  The manufacturer installed its patented CFCU, which separates feed materials of different densities, to improve the quality of output materials.

Yves said: “We’re targeting 400 tonnes per day, in one production shift, of sand and stone which will of course vary due to the variable nature of the material we process, but the fact is that thanks to CDE we now have that capacity there which will help us keep up with growing demand.”
