Eight specialist companies have secured places on a US$249 million demolition and remediation contract framework for the United States Navy.
Bhate Environmental Associates, BTS Equipment Unlimited, JKS Industries, Resource Environmental, Sea Pac Engineering, Speedway Orion JV, Stampede Ventures and Target Contractors - which recently won the prize for at the 2023 World Demolition Awards - have all been appointed to the multi-million-dollar deal, with the contracting authority being Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southwest.
The US Department of Defence said: “This contract predominantly involves building and structure demolition and site preparation to match the surrounding area including, but not limited, to paving and landscaping.
“Work will be performed at various government installations located in California (88%), Arizona (5%), Nevada (4%), Utah (1%), Colorado (1%), and New Mexico (1%), and is expected to be completed by December 2031.”
Works carried out under the framework will consist of indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quality contacts, each with a minimum value of US$5,000.
Five other construction sector companies have also been appointed to fulfil design and build contracts as part of the framework.
Dawson Enterprises, Heffler Contracting Group, Herman Construction Group, HHI Corp and R.A. Burch Construction will provide new construction, renovation, and repair works to the various US Navy installations.
This latest news comes just weeks after the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command awarded a US$6 million contract to ECC Environmental for the removal and disposal of debris and selective demolition works at the site of an historic World War II airship hangar at the former Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Tustin, California.
