Civil engineering contractor Karl Mossandl has completed the demolition of a school dormitory building in the Bavaria, Germany, more than a week ahead of schedule.
Karl Mossandl, which also provides construction materials and services, took down the three-storey dormitory at the Herzog-Tassilo-Realschule in Dingolfing using a rented Sennebogen 830 E demolition excavator.
The contractor had originally scheduled for the works involving the machine to take two weeks but, thanks to its choice of equipment, finished over a week earlier than it expected to.
“The fact that the Sennebogen demolition excavator didn’t even need a week was a surprise, and the responsible planners were amazed,” said Sennebogen.
Described by the manufacturer as a “true multifunctional machine”, the 830 E crawler model is a 50-t machine with maximum reach of 33 m. It is designed for selective dismantling and demolition tasks and its telescopic undercarriage allows it to operate on work sites with limited space.
