Hitachi launches ZX390TC-7 excavator
11 July 2022
Equipment manufacturer Hitachi has launched the ZX390TC-7 excavator as part of its range of Zaxis-7 medium excavators
With a Stage V compliant engine and Zaxis technology, the company said that the machine has been produced as a result of growing demand for machines in the 40-t class coming from the European excavator market.
According to Hitachi, the machine provides “exceptional durability” for heavy duty applications and demolition projects and has been adapted to work with larger working tools.
The machine is able to carry up to five-tonne tools due to boom and bucket cylinders as well as a one-class-higher reinforced linkage.
The full hydraulic control system of the ZX390TC, which can be changed from the seat of the operator is suitable for any attachments that are required.
Burkhard Janssen, Product Manager Special Applications and New Technologies at Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe), said: “The launch of the ZX390TC-7 shows how Hitachi is addressing the specific requirements of such industries, delivering a specially equipped model that sits between the existing ZX350LC-7 and ZX490LCH-7 models.”
“We are constantly listening to the needs of our customers, particularly regarding improvements to productivity and efficiency on site.
“This is one of three new special application machines that Hitachi has developed exclusively with German company KTEG, part of the EAC (European Application Center) joint venture with Hitachi Construction Machinery in Japan. We look forward to presenting it at Bauma this year.”
Commenting on the stability and safety of the machine, Hitachi said that the ZX390TC-7 has a robust 25 cm longer undercarriage than the standard ZX350LC-7 and is supplied with an additional 1.4-t counterweight.
The side impact protection and demolition-spec cab with FOPS guard level 2 and high-spec P5A safety glass further protects the operator during operation. To improve the field of vision from the cab, a 270-degree bird’s-eye view is provided by the Aerial Angle camera system.
