German material handlers head to ISRI Convention
14 March 2024
German construction equipment manufacturer Atlas has revealed that it is to attend this year’s ISRI (Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries) Convention and Expo in Las Vegas, United States.
Known for its material handlers, the company will be represented by its North American distributor SMH Group, which will showcase the Atlas 350 and 200 material handler models.
Both of the machines feature a turbocharged 129 kW (175 hp) Deutz TCD 6.1-litre engine, but while the smaller Atlas 200 has an operating weight of 21.5 t (47,400 lb) and a maximum working range of 11.6 m (38 ft 1 in), the Atlas 350 weighs in at 38 t (83,700 lb) and offers a working range of up to 18.2 m (59 ft 9 in).
According to Atlas - which last year manufactured an armoured excavator for remediation works at World War II army munitions site, equipment dealer SMH Group will show the Atlas 350 with a four-tine scrap grapple attachment, and the 200 model with a sorting grapple.
The material handler models will be on display at booth B-9 for the full duration of the ISRI Convention and Expo, which is thought to be the largest event for the recycled materials industry.
Since its founding, the event has grown to attract an average of 6,000 industry professionals each year. The 2024 iteration of the show, which already has over 5,000 attendees registered, will be held at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino from 15 to the 18 of April.
