Aquajet unleashes its ‘mean machine’ for hydrodemolition
14 March 2023
Swedish hydrodemolition specialist Aquajet has brought its ‘mean machine’ to Las Vegas – with the first North American showing of the Aqua Cutter 750V.
The powerful hydrodemolition robot has on board the company’s patented Infinity system, which controls the figure-8 oscillation of the machine’s water jet, down to the millisecond, allowing it to remove more concrete in a single pass.
According to Aquajet, the enhanced water control also eliminates the risk of pipe holes, reduces shadowing and leaves an excellent bonding surface.
More technology that comes as a standard feature with the 750V is Aquajet’s Evolution 3.0 Control System, which automatically calculates optimal settings for lance motion, for greater precision.
Aquajet says the new machine boasts enhanced horizontal, vertical and overhead reach, allowing it to undertake tasks including bridge and road repair.
A robotic revolution
As with the company’s other Aqua Cutter robots, the 750V has the potential to clean and descale rebar without causing microfracturing.
The company’s managing director Roger Simonsson, said that, for Aquajet, “Infinity oscillation is the next technological evolution, and it is changing how hydrodemolition contractors think about productivity.
“In the coming years, we will see it replacing rotating lances and similar tools to become the new industry standard.
“With the productivity gains realised during customer testing, the Aqua Cutter 750V is a significant advancement for hydrodemolition.”
