23 September 2024
Washing equipment specialist CDE and major US civil construction and materials company Granite have announced the commissioning of a new sand and aggregate wash plant at Granite’s Coyote Pit site in Grantsville, Utah, USA.
The plant, with a capacity of over 550 tonnes per hour, will be officially presented to the industry on 23 October 2024, during an open house event.
Granite, which operates 35 aggregate and 59 asphalt plants across the western United States and Canada, partnered with CDE to develop the new plant, with the aim of meeting the growing demand for materials in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area.
Ryan O’Loan, CDE Business Development Manager, said: “The Salt Lake City metropolitan area is expanding at a rapid rate and resources are in high demand, which is the backdrop to this important Grantsville development.
“Granite’s latest materials operation can ensure a consistent and reliable supply of sand and aggregates in the local market for many years to come and we’re proud that it will be CDE technology that underpins the operation to help maximize its lifespan and realize its potential.”
While no specific details about the new wash plant’s specification have been revealed, Granite Materials Manager Ric Skinner stated that the plant has been designed to produce high-quality aggregates efficiently.
He said: “Our goal is to efficiently produce the highest quality aggregates in our market to support our customers and their projects. It’s exciting to be partnered with CDE to build a plant that does exactly that.”
The new facility is expected to support the local market by ensuring a consistent supply of materials.
