Sales for Doosan Infracore grow in emerging markets

Doosan Infracore has secured multiple orders for large construction equipment with customers in the Asia, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, and is set to deliver 221 machines by the end of 2021.

Since the beginning of the year, the South Korea-based manufacturer has signed deals for a total of 324 units. The orders come from three large companies in Asia, three in North Africa and four in the Middle East.

Jeong Kwan-hee, managing director for sales in emerging markets, Doosan Infracore, said, “The new orders are the result of our efforts to foster dealers and develop the market even in the midst of the market slump caused by the spread of Covid-19.

“We plan to accelerate our efforts to enhance our brand image in emerging markets and expand sales volume and market share accordingly as the market situation improves.”

This latest new comes just a month after Doosan secured a deal to provide 15,000 eco-engines to Chinese forklift manufacturer Linde China, part of Kion Group.

In total, Doosan will deliver 108 pieces of construction equipment to its customers Asia. Of these, 30 Doosan DX340LC and 20 DX480LC excavators will be sent to a Hong Kong-based contractor for deployment on the three-runway system expansion project at Hong Kong International Airport.

While 20 mini excavators are bound for a dairy company in Vietnam, the remaining 38 excavators and wheeled loaders are heading to a customer for use in mine development and civil construction projects.

Doosan, which recently manufactured its first battery pack prototype for electrified products, said, “Orders have continued to be won in the Middle East as well. These include an order for 27 excavators and wheel loaders Doosan Infracore has received from a mining company in Oman.”

The manufacturer is also due to supply a further ten excavators in the 50-tonne class to a construcion firm in Saudi Arabia and has seen orders placed this year for the North Africa region from customers in Ghana, Eqypt and Morocco.
