Kleemann impact crusher wins Design Award
22 February 2024
The German Design Council, which annually names recipients of the German Design Award across multiple industries, added Kleemann’s impact crusher – the MOBIREX MR 130(i) PRO – to it’s 2024 listing of innovative designs
Kleemann GmbH, the Germany-based machine manufacturer, said it’s Mobirex diesel-electric crusher was honoured due to “high functionality, performance and ergonomics.”
A Wirtgen Group brand, the consortium said the Kleemann plant “impressed the jury of the German Design Award with its combination of environmentally friendly drive concept, exemplary functionality and user-friendliness in interaction with a striking design.”
The Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, commonly called the German Design Award, is a listing of products created every year by the German Design Council. It was founded in 1953 on the initiative of the German Federal Parliament as a foundation. According to Wirtgen Group, “it supports the economy by creating brand added-value through design.”
Wirtgen Group said the council provided the following justification for awarding the Kleeman machine in 2024: “The modern impact crusher… makes all-electric operation possible. At the same time, the design reflects the requirements of functionality, performance and ergonomics in an impressive manner.”
It is not Kleemann’s first time on the list, either, as the brand was honoured in 2022 for its EVO2 mobile jaw and cone crushers.
About the Kleemann Mobirex MR 130i Pro
The newest Mobirex is the latest unit of the ‘pro’ line from Kleemann.
The impact crusher is used as a primary and secondary crusher in soft to medium-hard natural stone and recycling.
It’s engine uses a 550 kVA generator with a rated speed of 2,100 RPM and a power supply output between 641 to 2,100HP.
The plant where it’s manufactured – in Göppingen, Germany, near Stuttgart – meets high environmental standards, says Wirtgen Group.
“Thanks to the diesel-electric drive – E-DRIVE – with the option of an external power supply, local emission-free operation is possible,” states the company. “A further positive feature of the plant is its high level of user-friendliness thanks to the intuitive digitized user guidance. A combination of smartphone, radio remote control or touch panel makes control from a distance possible.
The unit’s max configuration transport weight is approximately 83 tonnes (with a crusher weight of 17 tonnes) and measures 5.5m long.
