Grydale USA launches mobile dust collectors

JMS M-Series machines allow users to collect dust at the point of origin

The Seattle-based company, which was established earlier this year as part of Australia’s Grydale Group, provides sales and rental equipment options across the North America region, said its JMS M-Series range is the “only self-propelled dust collector on the market”.

The first units of the machine range, which was granted a US patent in February, 2021, are due to arrive in the US next month.

They are designed to help companies meet federal, local and OSHA regulations and can work with air volumes of 10 to 60 cu m (353 to 2,119 cu ft). 

Grydale Group owner, Andrew Fanning, said: “Significant investment in research and development combined with extensive product use and independent testing has allowed us to internationally patent a unique, proven product that can transform industrial dust collection on a global scale.” 

The track mounted units are suitable for above and below ground applications, such as demolition, infrastructure, quarrying and tunnelling work, and can be operated alongside a range of equipment to collect dust from the source.

The patented JMS M-Series machines feature a centrifugal exhaust fan mounted on a single compact base and are available in diesel, hybrid and electric versions.

They can be fitted with either tracks or a hybrid stepping system that uses four hydraulic legs and a pair of skates to move the unit.

For projects that required less mobility, Grydale also provides ‘drag skid’ units that can be lifted or dragged by a crane.

According to Grydale, roughly 125 mobile dust collection units are currently operating on projects across Australasia.

These include the WestConnex project in Sydney, the Metro Tunnel project in Melbourne and the City Rail Link in Auckland, New Zealand.
