World's first CC3300

02 May 2008

The world's First Atlas Copco CC3300 demolition cutter is working for Armoury Demolition in the UK. The new attachment is mounted on a new Hitachi Zaxis ZX460LCH excavator.

The Birmingham-based contractor took delivery of the 46-tonne Hitachi from UK distributor, HM Plant, and the machine's First job was to cut down the steel frame of a 10-year-old factory, which is sited on the outskirts of Wolverhampton.

The CC3300, which was launched at the SAIE exhibition in Bologna, Italy, in October of last year, was supplied by Sandhurst Equipment Sales.

Fitted with a heavy-duty, quick-hitch and demolition bucket (MST), the ZX460LCH excavator has a full demolition cab-cage and anti-drop valves on the boom and dipper. The equipment has also been fitted with heavy-duty belly plates, hammer and shear rotate-circuits, box section side-skirts, bucket ram-guards and a rear-view camera for enhanced operator vision.

The demolished works will make way for a new 28000 m2 (300000 ft2) retail distribution centre.
