Sennebogen shows off 50-tonne demolition excavator

Sennebogen has shown off its massive 50-tonne demolition machine at a special customer event at its headquarters in Germany.

Over 2,500 people attended the company’s recent in-house WE SHOW 71 exhibition event, the name of which marked its 71st year in business, where the company’s 830E demolition model was one of several machines in action.

Described by the manufacturer as a “true multifunctional machine”, the 830 E crawler model has a maximum reach of 33 m.

It is designed for selective dismantling and demolition tasks and its telescopic undercarriage allows it to operate on work sites with limited space.

With electrification now a megatrend across all construction and demolition equipment markets, Sennebogen also showed off its 817E battery-electric material hander.

Designed to meet the needs of recycling and waste management companies, the Sennebogen 817 E is a compact machine suitable for sorting and loading tasks, such as those in the scrap metal sector. The model boasts an operating weight of 17.2 t and has a reach of 9 m.

Commenting on the development of electric powered equipment, Sennebogen said: “It has long been clear that electric solutions are on the rise in the mechanical engineering industry.

“The current discussions about the consequences and causes of climate change is particularly centered around CO2 emissions, which are primarily caused by the combustion of fossil fuels.

“The technology drivers are not only the increasingly strict laws and requirements for large cities and conurbations, but also the market itself, which is making developments increasingly feasible due to the progressive maturity of technologies and the infrastructure required for them.”

It added: “Technologically, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, each customer has their own specific requirements, which are considered from an economic and technical perspective, and for which the solution has to be found that is perfectly tailored to the application.”
