Sennebogen crawlers in Plannerer's bridge demolition

A pair of 80 tonne capacity Sennebogen crawler cranes helped prepare the Sinntal Bridge in Germany for explosive demolition.
The Sinntal Bridge is one of the largest autobahn bridges in Germany. It is 770 metres long, has a height of 50 m and weighs more than 6,500 tonnes.
Demolition company Plannerer, Pullenreuth, was the main contractor for the project. The company used the 683 R-HD telescopic crawler cranes to move 16 tonne segments from the upper structure of the bridge, which had been cut into pieces by welders. The crawlers were also used in the drilling of detonation bores in the concrete pylons for explosive charges.
Stephan Plannerer, Plannerer CEO, said, "The demolition of the Sinntal bridge is an extremely demanding task for us. With the two Sennebogen telescopic crawler cranes we are optimally equipped to execute this task. The reliability and flexibility of the machines help us to meet the tight schedule.”
Following demolition, the crawler cranes cleared the debris. A new replacement bridge was reconstructed earlier this year.
