EDA to publish recycled products guide

The European Demolition Association (EDA) is to publish a new guide to help address the concerns about circular economy and recycling being expressed by Europe’s demolition contractors and industry operators.

The EDA’s Guide about Recycled Products is being created by the association’s newly established Working Group for Recycled Products, a subgroup of its Circular Economy working group.

The EDA said: “The creation of this subgroup was motivated by the increasing concern about circular economy and recycling. Since almost a third of the waste in Europe is generated by the construction sector.”

According to the association, around 90% of the materials obtained during construction and demolition activities are inert materials that can be easily recycled.

“Therefore, the demolition and recycling professionals have come together to create a comprehensive document explaining the issue and the possible solutions: the Guide about Recycled Products,” it added.

Martin Car from the Austrian demolition association, BRV, has been appointed to coordinate the working group, which is set to publish the recycled products guide in early 2024.
