Rye Group to outline SME carbon challenge at WDS
28 September 2022
British demolition, remediation and ground and enabling works specialist the Rye Group says it is set to support industry SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) in reducing their carbon footprint with a dedicated talk at the annual World Demolition Summit (WDS).
Organised by Demolition & Recycling International (D&Ri) alongside the European Demolition Association and the US National Demolition Association, the WDS – which also features an industry awards dinner – takes place this year in Vienna, Austria, on 16 and 17 November.
Joining Rye Group on the conference programme are companies from countries including Argentina, Canada and New Zealand.
Committed to its own Sustainable Standard framework, Rye Group said will utilise the World Demolition Summit stage to discuss the importance of sustainability throughout the industry, while provide insight into the lessons learned in undertaking carbon audits for the benefit of demolition SMEs.
Operations director Ben Griffiths said: “The World Demolition Summit is the leading event for the global demolition industry. That’s why I’m delighted to be taking part alongside my colleague, Rye’s marketing director, Jonathan Cox.”
Not only do we plan to highlight the importance of carbon audits for the benefit of the environment, but we also plan to deliver valuable lessons, insight and takeaways that will encourage industry SMEs to incorporate this process and reduce their impact on the environment long-term.”
