Low noise midi excavator launches from Yanmar
20 February 2024
Yanmar Compact Equipment (Yanmar CE) has launched two midi excavators in the 8 to 10t class. The SV86-7 is an 8.7t operating weight machine, and the SV100-7 is a 9.7t model.
The conventional tailswing models fit between the company’s B7-6 and SV120 midi excavators.
The SV86-7 and SV100-7 are designed to offer a compact footprint, with front swing radiuses of 2.12m and 2.45m, respectively, and rear turning radiuses of 1.26m and 1.36m. Rear overhang is 120mm on the smaller machine, and 205mm on the SV100.
Power for both machines come from a Yanmar 4TNV98CT turbo engine, delivering 50.8kW at 1,800rpm. One addition to Yanmar’s 10t class machines is the ViPPS2i system—a two-piston hydraulic pump designed to maximize performance and efficiency.
The SV86-7 offers lifting capacities of 1.29t (side) and 2.28t (front), while the V100 has capacities of 1.42t (side) and 2.39t (front).
Yanmar said it had responding to customer feedback in giving both model a completely redesigned exterior; “merging modern aesthetics with dynamic functionality.”
The cabins are more spacious and incorporate an automatic AC system and a new 7-inch LCD colour display monitor. The glass area has also been significantly expanded.
Also new is improved low noise performance. The SV86 operates at just over 93 decibels, while the SV100 maintains a noise level just below 97 decibels.
“Achieving low noise levels was a primary goal during the development of the SV86-7 and SV100-7, especially considering the strict noise regulations in Yanmar’s homeland, Japan”, said Yanmar.
Both machines are now available globally through Yanmar CE’s dealer network.
