Trascavi adds 2.9 t crusher bucket
01 June 2022
Trascavi, a demolition waste recycling centre near Bologna in Italy, has added a Simex crusher bucket to its operations.
Its new Simex CBE 40 model, which is designed for excavators in the 24 to 40 t class range, weighs 2.9 t (2,900 kg) and incorporates high-displacement direct-drive radial piston motors that deliver 152 kN of cutting force.
The 1.0 cubic metre (35 cu ft) capacity model was trialled by the company last just month and is a replacement for one of its existing buckets. Mounted on a New Holland E245B excavator, the CBE 40 is being used process demolition waste, including industrial floor materials, piles, pylons and large amounts of reinforced concrete.
Sergio Martini, owner of Trascavi, said: “Because of the rebars, our crushing plant is out of order, waiting to be repaired.
“The rotor system of the CBE crusher bucket reduces the risk of blocking with any type of demolition material, and no less, with reinforced concrete.”
Output material produced by the CBE 40 measures between 0-70 mm in size, matching the grain size of that produced by Trascavi’s crushing plant.
Sergio said: “The recycled material produced by the CBE 40 crusher bucket has no substantial difference with the one of our crushing plants. And can be recovered directly on site as stabilized aggregate in the construction field for non-structural parts, such as oversite concrete and perimeter screeds, or in road bases.”
