Simon has worked in the demolition industry for more than 20 years, mainly in civils infrastructure dismantling.

He began career in the sector as a project manager for a contractor specialising in bridges and highway overpass removal, and in 2015 joined the Delsan-AIM Environmental Services Team to manage its civils department.

Simon played a key role in one of the most celebrated demolition projects of recent years—the dismantling of the original Champlain Bridge in Montreal, Canada.

The project won the Civils category at the 2024 World Demolition Awards before going on to be named Best of the Best project of the year, the highest accolade presented at the event.

Leila Steed, WDS Programme Organiser, said: “Simon Hébert and Delsan-AIM have set a benchmark for excellence in complex infrastructure demolition. Their work on the Champlain Bridge was a masterclass in engineering, safety, and environmental responsibility.

“It’s a true priviledge and a pleasure to welcome him back to the WDS as a keynote speaker. His presence is an exciting opportunity for attendees to gain first-hand insights into complex dismantling projects.”

Simon’s keynote speech at WDS 2025 is set to provide unique expertise into the challenges of large-scale infrastructure dismantling, drawing on Delsan-AIM’s experience in delivering complex demolition projects with a focus on safety, environmental responsibility, and innovation.

Commenting on his upcoming participation, Simon said: “After last year’s successful WDS 2024 event in Sweden, I am honoured to have the opportunity to be a speaker at WDS 2025 in Nashville, USA”.

The World Demolition Summit, now in its 17th year, is organised in partnership with the US National Demolition association and in association with the European Demolition Association, and brings together leading figures from across the demolition and C&D waste recycling industries.

For the first time in its history, the 2025 event will comprise a two-day format, with its traditional mix of expert-led technical presentations, case studies of high-profile projects, and discussions on key industry trends.

It will conclude with the World Demolition Awards, where the best projects, companies, and professionals in the sector will be recognised for their achievements.
